Reach

The Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen (REACH) Georgia program is a state-wide initiative that financially supports the preparation of potential scholars beginning at the middle school level. Coordinators continue to mentor REACH Georgia scholars throughout their high school tenure and assist them as they begin to identify their post-secondary school of choice at which they are awarded a $10,000 scholarship to assist with college cost of attendance. REACH Georgia is grateful for the support of their partners in higher education in helping their scholars with a smooth transition into college and assisting them with their educational goals.

As a campus partner, the department of Student Success Programs (SSP) provides the following academic support services and co-curricular programming that enhances the success of REACH Georgia scholars:

  • Summer program orientation
  • Membership into the KSU Thrive Program, with access to its benefits
  • A state-of-the-art private study lounge
  • Peer mentors
  • An assigned Graduation Coach who will provide individualized, tailored support for academic success and future goal setting, to assist in students’ preparation for degree completion
  • Recognition/regalia for graduation

Additionally, SSP collaborates with campus partners and the program’s stakeholders to ensure the persistence of REACH Georgia scholars pursuing their undergraduate degree at Kennesaw State University.

Matching Funds Scholarship

Effective academic year 2021-2022, the REACH Georgia matching scholarship opportunity available at KSU will be determined on a per semester basis. An application process overseen by the SSP department will decide the disbursement of these potential matching scholarship funds. Please contact Krystal Gongora (kgongor1@kennesaw.edu) for further questions about this opportunity for our current eligible scholars.
