Leigh Funk

Leigh Funk is the Assistant Vice Provost and SACSCOC Liaison providing leadership for the planning and evaluation of institutional quality relating to the SACSCOC regional accreditation principles. This role oversees several continuous improvement and USG initiatives including the Quality Enhancement Plan, Academic Program Review, as well as institutional assessment, policies, and academic agreements. 

Dr. Funk is a native of North Carolina and completed her bachelors at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her master’s at East Carolina University and her doctoral at Capella University. In her twenty-seven years at Kennesaw State University, Dr. Funk progressed through every faculty rank from instructor to full professor and has held multiple leadership positions at both the college and university level. Over the past two decades, Dr. Funk has advanced her accreditation work by serving on and chairing accreditation teams for SACSCOC, CAEP (Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation), CEC (Council for Exceptional Children) and the Georgia Professional Standards Commission
